Born in Vietnam, Rosalina Lydster inherited her love of jewelry and knowledge of design from her mother, a well-respected jeweler in Saigon who dressed socialites and dignitaries throughout the 1960’s until the family relocated to San Francisco in the 1980’s. After studying at San Francisco State University and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise, Rosalina began designing wedding bands, engagement rings, and special pieces for friends & associates as a side project to her full-time career as an investment banker with a major Wall Street firm. After careful consideration and urging by colleagues and friends over the years, Rosalina founded the Jewelry by Rosalina brand of couture jewelry in 2001. With experience derived from her family’s established
jewelry business and years of exposure to various metals With increased recognition and success to her credit, Rosalina is currently the most sought-after designer by such celebrities as Paris Hilton, Kathy Hilton, Tom Hanks, Tori Spelling, Pamela Anderson, Hilary Duff, Allison Janney, Stockard Channing, Adrien Brody, Jessica Alba, Fran Drescher, Giselle Bundchen, Orlando Bloom, Parker Posey, Elton John, Sofia Milos, Jessica Simpson, Vanessa Carlton, Fergie, Gina Gershon, Danielle Steele, Dakota Fanning and many others. Most recently, Rosalina dressed Parker Posey in several Jewelry by Rosalina pieces for the film Superman Returns. Rosalina is also an avid supporter of various charities, including the San Francisco Ballet, The Raphael House of San Francisco, the Banyan Society, The American Cancer Society, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada.
